An Earthy, Bohemian Sunrise: Kaylin Blackburn | Memphis Senior Photographer

There's something magical, and almost mysterious about watching the sun rise.
The whole earth feels untouched; like maybe you are the only one with the privilege of getting to watch it wake up.
A thick fog seeps over the hills and through the trees, leaving the horizon looking soft and touchable.

Sunsets can be bold and golden, and a magnificent sight to behold.
But I think the appeal of sunrises is that few are awake to see it, and even fewer get the chance to sit and breathe it in.

When Kaylin and I started planning her senior pictures, we knew she wanted something very natural and boho because it really suits her style and personality. She's a free spirit with a love for nature and what it has to offer. But instead of shooting her senior portraits at sunset like I normally would, Kaylin requested that we do them at sunrise.

I LOVE sunrise photohoots, but it's pretty rare for people to want them since you have to (literally) get up before the crack of dawn. But when you do... it's something magical.
She wanted to not only capture her own beauty, but the beauty that is in the world around her.
The quiet of the sunrise. The serenity of dawn. The way the tall grass tickled the horizon.
All of these bits of nature acted together creating some of the most beautiful scenery that Mississippi has to offer.

"The human spirit needs places where nature has not been rearranged by the hand of man."
