An Intimate Breastfeeding Session in the Creek: The Bond Between Mother & Child | Memphis Lifestyle Family Photographer

When Anissa first contacted me about doing a session of her breastfeeding her son, Adrian, I was instantly inspired and invested in getting to document this cherished time that they have together. There is no love stronger than the love a mother has for her child, and the special bond these two share is something like no other. Just having the chance to see the way Adrian looks at his mother, plays with her hair, laughs with her, and reaches for her is the most heart warming experience I've gotten the chance to be a part of. 

"Breastfeeding is more than just feeding your baby. It's determination, love, and patience. Somedays can be exhausting. Caring for a baby who seems to only want you for your breasts, but when your baby stops nursing for that few seconds to look up and smile at you, you realize that you aren't just feeding your baby. You are providing care, comfort, and a loving bond only you can give."

Our session in the creek was so natural, so real. The water rippled around them while they waded in the creek and giggled together. 
This session is by far one of my favorites, and will always be one that I hold close to my heart, and I believe that Anissa and Adrian will hold it close to theirs as well.
