I had the privilege of photographing the sweetest, most intimate elopement on Oct 29th. 

Charlene and Zack decided they wanted to be married, but wanted where they made this commitment to be somewhere that meant a lot to them. Somewhere they could go to spend time and enjoy each other. They decided that place for them was Shelby Farms Dog Park. 

Why you may ask? 
Because this guy. 

Jackson. 

He's just the cutest pup you've ever met EVER.
*typed in that obnoxious baby-talk voice that happens when you see a cute dog*
If their elopement wasn't already perfect, Jackson showed up dressed for the occasion in his best tie.

"We wanted a simple, no fuss ceremony with just the two of us and our coonhound/beagle/lab mix, Jackson, as Best Dog. We went to a place that is special to us - Shelby Farms Dog Park - and had the privilege to get married on our own terms... even if Jackson did steal the show with his bow tie! The day couldn't have been more perfect.

About the running shoes... we currently have about 1,000 pairs of running shoes in our house vs. 9 pairs of non-running shoes. It's a huge part of our lives. And Jackson's, too! I could say something cheesy like runners never quit- like love. But really, it's about cheap therapy and running all of the miles so we can drink all of the wine and beer and eat all of the tacos and chocolate chip cookies.


We woke up, made breakfast, then took a long walk. The only other thing left to do that day was to get married! For as long as we've been together, we've always known it was going to be forever. We love each other with all of our hearts and souls, and we are so lucky to be a part of each other's world.

We capped the evening off with sushi takeout, a bottle of bubbly, and a wagging, furry tail in the comfort of our home. For us this was the perfect start to the rest of our lives."
