Caroline & Travis | A Fun Engagement Session in Wolf River
Travis and Caroline's engagement shoot began in a open field with their sweet, energetic golden retriever Nugget, and ended with both of them wrapped around each other and laughing together in the river.
(Poor Travis had NO idea that their session was going to take such a turn, but in the end I think we all collectively agreed that it couldn't have been more perfect.)
These two used to hike together and they love being outside so getting to incorporate that, while also highlighting their fun, silly personalities tied it all together.
Speaking of tied together, on the way to their session we spotted a colorful masterpiece of string woven between several trees on the side of the road that we just couldn't resist stopping by.
It reminded me of the way light travels through a prism, taking all the visible light and splitting it into every color imaginable. As we wandered around the colorful maze, we chatted about the things they loved the most about each other.
One of my favorite things to ask my couples is, "If there was a specific moment you knew you were going to marry this person, what was it?"
I like to ask this because the answer is always different and unique, and a lot of the times the stories or moments are ones that they haven't vocally shared with the other.
Sometimes it's romantic, sometimes it's a simple little moment, sometimes it's silly, and sometimes it's when you're battling a stomach bug and your person is brave and loving enough to take care of you.
Whatever answer people give me, it gives me a first look into their love.
Before long, we found ourselves at the edge of the river, slinging off our shoes and racing through the sand to the edge of the water. There, the sun began to set and the water mirrored the colors of the sky around them.
Thank you guys for an afternoon of fun and playfulness, and the opportunity to be apart of the story that you are creating together! <3
