It gave us a chance to breathe with each other, without family and guests. We were able to take in the moment of "oh my gosh. I am about to get married to this handsome, perfect guy standing in front of me!" Ryan got the chance to see me, and take it all in, and concentrate on each other and completely take in our wedding ceremony. And although the day flew by, getting to see him before the ceremony made it longer. Every second counts. Spend time with your soon to be husband as much as possible the day of your wedding because it will be gone within the blink of an eye." -Mrs. Vargo

"NOLA has always tugged at our heart strings... Romance, food, architecture, history, all of it. Everyone that visits wants to do the same thing: have fun!
We were a little intimidated when we first decided on a destination wedding. But we knew it would be worth it to have it in one of our favorite cities, New Orleans!
We found ourselves looking up reviews of vendors and wedding venues just as we would be doing if we would have had it in Memphis. We also wanted a smaller, intimate wedding, and a destination wedding gave us that."

There wasn't a dry eye in Nola on the weekend of the Haley and Ryan Vargo's wedding.

Camera in hand, I watched and snapped away as Haley prepared to see her groom for the first time. Both of them anxious, she turned to me and said, "I can't believe how nervous I am! I see him everyday. This is my best friend. Why am I so nervous for him to see me today!?" But he proved to be just as nervous as he stood in front of his soon-to-be-wife in the small courtyard of their French Quarter bed and breakfast. There, they took in and cherished this sweet intimate moment, each other, and the life they were building together.

Between the courtyard walls of The New Orleans Pharmacy Museum, Haley and Ryan made vows to each other that they had promised in their hearts years ago.
For the last 8 years, these two have loved each other, chosen each other, and grown together. And now, in the city where Ryan asked Haley to spend the rest of her life with him, they made that commitment in front of their family. Everyone (including me) couldn't hold back tears from rolling down their cheeks at the sight of these two, hand in hand.
After they were pronounced Mr. and Mrs., they walked down the aisle hugging and thanking each of their guest for being there to be a part of their day. It was one of the sweetest moments I've seen at a wedding and it truly showed how much it meant to them to have everyone there!

We marched through the streets of New Orleans with their family, friends, and occasionally, an enthusiastic stranger drawn in by the lively sound of trumpets and horns provided by their second line band, Big Fun Brass Band. All through the streets we danced and laughed and soaked up the culture of this city. It was everyone's favorite part of the day, for sure.
We danced from The New Orleans Pharmacy Museum, all the way to Muriel's on Jackson Square, where they made their grand entrance as husband and wife into a hauntingly beautiful candle lit reception.
Hidden just beyond the dance floor behind a heavy curtain was a room called the Seance Lounge; known for the ghost that inhabit it and it's tragic history. (hear the story here).

Haley & Ryan, your wedding was so full of emotion and love. Having the chance to witness this and to document your wedding, tell your story, and make memories with you two in this beautiful city was such a blessing. Thank you both, and your family for being so kind and hospitable to us. Can't wait to see where marriage takes the two of you!
