"Never half-ass it."

Words of wisdom from Kara Smith, my latest 2017 Senior from Hernando High School.

"Always back yourself wholeheartedly and inexplicably and when something is important to you, never half-ass it."

After we parted ways after our session, it rang through my ears and sat in my mind and left me thinking: This is probably one of the most valuable lessons you could learn. Whether you are 8, 18, or 82, this short phrase is probably the most important thing you can implement in your life, especially as a senior. When you are getting ready to graduate from high-school and step out of your comfort zone and step into an entirely new world with new opportunities, knowing how to push your limits, challenge yourself, take any task handed to you and pursue it with everything in you is the only way to live a full life. Living a half-assed life in no way to live at all. 

The fact that Kara chose this quote shows that she is ready for whatever life throws at her, and that she is ready to take it with determination and eagerness. She's bold. She's wise. She's graduating next May, and I have no doubt that this girl is ready to take on the world. Thanks for choosing me to take your senior portraits, and reminding me to go all in and never half-ass anything.
