A Downtown Memphis Wedding at The Peabody Hotel and St. Peter's Catholic Church | Whitney & Riley
“One special detail of mine on our wedding day was my grandmother's garter that she wore on her wedding day, and it’s been passed down to everyone in our family whom wore it all signed the garter box, and on August 7th I got to add my name to it!”
“I gifted Riley a Rogue wedding band. (He loves to workout and has a garage gym with a lot of rogue fitness brand workout gear. Before we were engaged, he had already picked out a rogue ring he wanted).”
“We knew we wanted a downtown Memphis wedding and be able to get married in a catholic church. When we started to look at churches, we had always heard and seen photos of how beautiful St. Peter Catholic Church was (the gorgeous columns!!) We visited and fell in love!! So we ended up joining the church and their Wednesday bible study group.”
Riley and I were both really nervous to say our vows in-front of a ton of people. We aren't public speakers and aren't use to speaking to large groups/crowds.
..But when we got up to the alter, it really felt like it was just the two of us and Father Auggie. All the nerves went away.
“The reception space was the Peabody Continental Ballroom and picked out by my dad. My parents had their rehearsal dinner at the Peabody when they were married in the 70's. It is super sweet that we get to share that with them and possibly be able to pass that down to our kids when they get married.”
“Riley's younger brother Colin passed away in 2015. His favorite song was "Hooked on a Feeling" by Blue Swede. After Riley and his mom danced their special song, Colin's song was played to open up the dance floor. Such a great moment when everyone joined the dance floor!”
