A Vintage Inspired Wedding at the Shack Up Inn in Clarkesdale, MS | Michelle and Jesse
Michelle and Jesse’s wedding felt like a step back in time. The Shack Up Inn in Clarksdale, Mississippi is a destination for folks with a love and appreciation for the blues. Located just three miles from Highways 49 and 61, the legendary Crossroads, guests can immerse themselves in the living history of restored sharecropper shacks, rusted buildings and cars, the bar and reception area covered from floor to ceiling in old signs and relics where so many musicians have left their mark as they passed through the Delta.
It wasn’t just the venue that made it feel like we had stepped back in time; from the bride and groom’s vintage wedding attire, as well as their guests, the music and live band, every aspect of the day came together so perfectly to create such an unforgettable atmosphere.
Michelle and Jesse are untraditional in every way, but specifically that they weren’t interested in a million and one posed photos and spending the whole day on a traditional wedding schedule. They wanted to spend their day together and with their loved ones; dancing, playing music, and taking in every moment. We were honored to document such a laid back and fun wedding.
We loved getting to shoot through a few rolls of film at Michelle and Jesse’s wedding! It was so fitting that their day also be captured on film- there’s something so unique and nostalgic about film photography.
