A Summer Beach Wedding on Fripp Island in South Carolina | Mr. & Mrs. Bankston
Katie and Larry had a beautiful beach wedding on the coast of South Carolina at Fripp Island resort; a place Katie and her family had been spending their summers and vacations at for years, and now, it would be the place where she marries her best friend.
It was the perfect summer day. Blue skies, a warm ocean breeze blowing through the palm trees, and the sound of the sea crashing against the shore.
But what really made it perfect was the people.
All of Katie and Larry's closest friends from all over travelled to Fripp Island to witness and be a part of such a special day for them.
Kaite is the store manager for Luv Bridal in Boulder, Colorado so I knew her dress would be absolutely stunning, but I was not prepared for HOW perfect it would be. It was made for her.
No, literally. It was actually MADE for her. Madi Lane Bridal, a wedding dress designer based out of Australia, made a one-of-a-kind dress for a very one of a kind bride. It was completely unique to her and the perfect wedding dress for a beach wedding ceremony.
"The day-of was definitely different from any other day of my life. The air was light and I felt a calmness all day. I can honestly say that at no point was I nervous. We were surrounded by our closest family and friends, and everyone was so generous and warm." -Katie
"Fripp Island is such a special place to my family. My grandfather was a Commander in the Navy and first stationed in Beaufort back in the late 50’s. They introduced the island to all of us, and always had dreams of moving back. Our entire family vacationed in Fripp over the years and I first brought Larry there a couple of years ago. We have so much love and history there- I honestly believe it's the most perfect place." -Katie
As Katie waited to walk down the aisle with her dad, I asked him what advice he had for her.
“Be patient.” He said. “Larry is a great man, but he’s not a perfect man. No one is.”
Listening to his words really stuck with me. Marriage is choosing to love someone despite their short comings, on their bad days, through thick and thin. I can’t think of something more beautiful than that. It’s growing together. Working together, learning each other, and it’s such a special bond to have with someone. Love is patient.
