A Fun and Unforgettable Wedding at The Dominion in San Antonio TX | Rachel & Perry
“The whole day I was stealing glances at Perry, and trying to capture every smile in my memory. Everywhere I looked, everyone seemed to having a blast. There will never be another day like it. It was my absolute favorite day because I married my best friend!”
“So many people told me that I was the most calm future bride they had ever seen. And I felt calm because I knew whatever happened today, no matter if every single thing went wrong, I was going to be married to Perry at the end of it-and that’s all I wanted.” -Rachel
I took an hour shower that morning. I woke up before everyone else and used that time to try to get my mind ready for the next 12 hours. I told myself, "Remember this day. Drink in everything. This is the day you dedicate yourself to the person most worthy of your time, most worthy of your affection, and definitely most worthy of your love." -Perry
I think the nerves started to set in when I put my suit on. Something about that really got the proverbial butterflies going in my stomach. At this point, I thought I was going to see my bride for the first time that day. Little did I know that something else was in store for me…
“Some say having a first look before the wedding is their favorite moment of the day...I can’t stay the same. Having your best friend dressed in a wedding dress and wig surprise you, instead of your beautiful bride, is what some would call “disturbing.” And they would be correct. Emotions of fear, confusion, surprise, disgust, and many other things course through me at the same time.
However, all those feelings faded when Rachel replaces Zac as the one in the wedding dress. She was perfect. I remember not wanting to tear up or cry cause that would hinder me from looking at her.
Gosh...what a babe.”
“I kind of had a different experience during the “first looks” because I was watching Perry while Zac surprised him during the fake first look. From the window, I was just thinking about how I couldn’t wait to make Perry laugh like this for the rest of his life. When we actually saw each other, I was thinking how lucky I was to be marrying him. Seeing him took away every little ounce of fear or nervousness I had in the back of my mind. Plus, he looked SO freakin’ handsome that day.
I’m not gonna lie and say that’s not the first thing I thought!” -Rachel
Before the ceremony, Rachel’s mom surprised her with a pin that belonged to her late grandmother. Her sister had worn it on her bouquet at her wedding, so it was so sentimental and special for Rachel to wear it for hers as well.
One of the most emotional parts of the ceremony was when Rachel’s sister, Sarah, sang “Better” by JJ Heller, while her husband played guitar. It was so beautiful and full of meaning…each word in the song echoed a feeling between Rachel and Perry that you can see just radiating between them everytime they are near each other.

“Standing on the edge of new beginnings
I can't wait to see just what you'll do
And every time I think of you
You make me laugh a little louder
You make me dream a little bigger
My life is so much sweeter because
You make me breathe a little deeper
You make me sing a little stronger
My life is so much sweeter
'Cause you make me
You make me better.”
